MEEKER I The Cowboys won a game without even suiting up. And it was against a school that apparently is no longer, well, a school. Meeker called off its game last Friday against New Direction Academy of Aurora after repeated attempts to contact the online school proved unsuccessful.

Mustangs slog past Rifle in wet and cold
MEEKER | Despite last weekend’s wet and cold conditions, the third- and fourth-grade Meeker Mustangs outplayed Rifle, winning 19-6. Doak Mantle scored three touchdowns and an extra point for the Mustangs.
X-country runners continue to improve

MEEKER I At this point in the season, getting better is always the goal. That’s the case for Meeker’s volleyball team. The defending Western Slope League champions lost to Vail Christian on Friday night, but there were bright spots.
Rangely Junior High teams split games
RANGELY I The Panthers’ junior high football teams split their games Saturday with Steamboat Springs. The seventh-graders won 12-6, while the eighth-graders lost 22-8.
Hogan concentrates on sport of the season
RANGELY I It’s volleyball season, so that’s Audrey’s Hogan’s favorite sport. If it was winter, then basketball would be her favorite sport. Whatever sports season it is at the time, that’s her favorite.
