Apprentice Lineman Position

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The Victim Assistance and Law Enforcement Board of the 9TH Judicial
District, which is Garfield, Pitkin and Rio Blanco Counties, is seeking grant applications from agencies and organizations to provide assistance services to crime victims. The funding cycle is January 1 – December 31, 2016. The board is committed to funding programs which provide direct services to crime victims and implement the Victim’s Rights Amendment. They may also consider scholarships for training that is related to the welfare of victims. Revenue for this fund is generated from a surcharge or fees assessed to people who are convicted of felonies, misdemeanors, traffic offenses and fish and game violations. These funds are authorized by Title 24, Article 4.2, Colorado Revised Statutes. During the 2015 grant cycle the board awarded a total of $180,000 to 8 agencies that provide services to
victims in the 9th Judicial District. It is anticipated that approximately $180,000 will be available for the 2016 12-month grant cycle.
PRIORITY CATEGORIES:
1) In accordance with 24-4.2-103(5), priority use for moneys in the fund shall be the implementation of the rights afforded to crime victims pursuant to Section 24-4.1-302.5 and for provision of the services delineated pursuant to Sections 24-4.1-303 and 24-4.1-304 related to all crimes as defined by Section 24-4.1-302.

TABOR PRO/CON NOTICE
The Rangely School District RE-4 (District) is now collecting comments from the public detailing the pros and cons of a ballot issue the District will submit to the voters in the upcoming General Election November 3, 2015. Any registered elector in the District may submit pro or con statements about the ballot issue. The information that is received will be summarized and included in the TABOR Notice that is sent to voters prior to the election.
The ballot issue as adopted by the District Board of Education reads as follows:
SHALL THE RANGELY SCHOOL DISTRICT RE-4 TAXES BE INCREASED BY THE AMOUNT OF $429,935 IN TAX COLLECTION YEAR 2016, AND AN AMOUNT TO BE DETERMINED ANNUALLY THEREAFTER BY IMPOSING A PROPERTY TAX LEVY EITHER AT A RATE SUFFICIENT TO PRODUCE THE AMOUNT SPECIFIED ABOVE, OR AT A RATE OF .963 MILLS, WHICHEVER WILL PRODUCE THE HIGHEST TAX REVENUES IN THE GIVEN TAX COLLECTION YEAR, FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES TO BE APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION WHICH SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO FUNDING NEW COSTS NECESSARY FOR ADDITIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, MATH, AND OTHER PROGRAMS ATTRACTING AND RETAINING QUALITY STAFF, REPLACEMENT OF OUTDATED BOOKS, MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES, EXTENDING USEFUL LIFE OF SCHOOL BUILDINGS, IMPROVING ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF BUILDINGS, ADDRESSING DISABILITY ACCESS CONCERNS, IMPROVING CAMPUS SAFETY AND SECURITY, IMPROVING AGING OUTDOOR/PLAYGROUND AREAS AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL, UPDATING CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY, ADDRESS OUTDATED BUSES AND OTHER TRANSPORTATION NEEDS BY COLLECTING, DEPOSITING INTO THE GENERAL FUND, RETAINING AND EXPENDING ALL REVENUES DERIVED FROM SUCH TAX, AND ANY EARNINGS FROM THE INVESTMENT THEREOF, AS A VOTER APPROVED REVENUE CHANGE AND AN EXCEPTION TO LIMITS WHICH WOULD OTHERWISE APPLY UNDER ARTICLE X, SECTION 20 OF THE COLORADO CONSTITUTION OR ANY OTHER LAW?
Those submitting statements are being asked to submit a Word version of the statements as an email attachment, sent to the following e-mail address: [email protected]. The deadline for submitting Pro or Con statements is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015. There will be no extensions.
The following requirements apply:
Statements should not mention names of persons or private groups.
Statements may not include any endorsements of or resolutions against any ballot issue.
Each statement must be signed by the person submitting the statement.
Each statement must state where the signer is registered to vote.
Please be aware that your writing is unlikely to be reprinted in its
entirety.
It is the responsibility of the Designated Election Official to summarize comments received so that each ballot issue has no more than 500 words in the pro statement and no more than 500 words in the con statement.
It is suggested that each statement be limited to a maximum of 500 words, and it is recommended that bullet points be used.
