Fossilized remains of a 74 million year old hadrosaur—nicknamed Walter—were airlifted out of the high desert near Rangely and transported to the federal repository at the Craig Campus of Colorado Northwestern Community College.

MEEKER | Meet “Walter the Dinosaur” from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18.  Join us at the CNCC Meeker Center for a free evening of dinosaurs. Ever watched the movie, “Land Before Time”?  Well, Ducky’s buddy was found right in our own backyard. Here is your chance to meet the team that unearthed CNCC’s dinosaur, a hadrosaur—duckbilled dinosaur—affectionately called Walter.
