MEEKER | Assistance will be available at no charge on the following days: Thursday, Nov. 13, and Wednesday, Nov. 19 at the Fairfield Center by appointment. The sign-up sheet will be available at the Chuckwagon location in the Fairfield Center or by calling Sharon Day at 970-942-7511. Assistance will also be available at Pioneers Medical Center every Tuesday, and will include Sharon Day and Susie Kasper, SHIP Counselors; every Tuesday in November by appointment. Signing up for appointments is available at Meeker Drugs at PMC 970-878-9797 (0). We welcome any questions or concerns, regarding Medicare, Part C Advantage plans, Supplemental/Medigap or Part D Prescription plans, primarily for 2026 at both locations. There is no such thing as a dumb question. They are all important.
Request a Thanksgiving food basket by Nov. 19; help assemble them Nov. 22
MEEKER | Residents in need of a Thanksgiving food basket may call Peggy at 970-366-0072 to place an order by Wednesday, Nov. 19. Donations of instant mashed potatoes, gravy mix, stuffing mix, canned cranberries, canned sweet potatoes, canned green beans, turkey or turkey breast, and dessert mixes are requested. Nonperishable items may be dropped off at St. James Episcopal Church, 368 4th St. Collection boxes are located under the south portico. Turkeys must be delivered to White River Methodist Church, 809 Park Ave., during Food Bank hours: Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those unable to drop off items may call Peggy at 970-366-0072 for assistance. Volunteers are invited to help assemble and deliver baskets at St. James at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22.
White River Alliance hosts author Nov. 19 at Town Hall conference room
MEEKER | The White River Alliance is hosting author Ben Goldfarb on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at the Meeker town hall conference room at 6 p.m. Goldfarb is the author of the award-winning book “Eager: The Surprising, Secret Life of Beavers and Why They Matter.” The book details the ways that beavers benefit streams and their surrounding land.
Pink Friday is coming Nov. 21! Get ready!
Meeker | The fourth annual Pink Friday shopping event will be Friday, Nov. 21 in Meeker. There will be a bingo card for customers of participating businesses with prizes for the winners (the Bingo event will be Friday and Saturday).

RANGELY | The fourth annual craft show/bazaar will be held Dec. 6 at the EEC building (402 W Main) in Rangely. This is going to be a great show with your favorite vendors from past years to new and exciting vendors. A great place to do your Christmas shopping!
Sign up now to sponsor veterans event in May 2026
MEEKER | Organizers of the first annual Meeker Veterans Community Center Bull Riding Concert and Gala, set for May 24, 2026, are seeking sponsors to help fund veteran services, wellness programs, family support and scholarships. The full-day event will feature professional bull riding with veteran riders, a catered gala with live and silent auctions, and a concert headliner (to be determined). Attendance is expected to reach 2,000 to 3,000 people, offering strong visibility for sponsors. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to sponsor the event or donate auction items to help secure a major headliner and expand programs benefiting local veterans. Meeker Library Book Club Nov. 10
MEEKER | The Meeker Public Library Book Club is reading The World’s Strongest Librarian by Josh Hanagarne. We will meet to discuss the book at the Meeker Public Library on Monday, Dec. 8, at 1 p.m. Extra copies are available for check out at the library. The memoir is also available as an audiobook on hoopla and as an ebook or audiobook on Libby. New members are always welcome!
Short Stories & Snacks @ the Library
MEEKER | New program at the Meeker Public Library! The Short Stories and Snacks Club is the book club for people who don’t have time to read. We will be reading The Lottery by Shirley Jackson. Copies of the story are available at the library, or you can read it or listen to it on hoopla and Libby. We will meet at the Meeker Public Library on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. Snacks will be served.
