MEEKER | The Cottage Food Training classes are open for registration. There will be two sessions offered on Wednesday, May 9, at CNCC Meeker Center. The morning class will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and afternoon session from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Cost of training is $25. Learn the specifics of the Colorado Cottage Food Act for operating a food business out of your home or selling at farmers markets or other venues. Information will include basic food safety, permissible foods, ingredient labeling, disclaimer requirements and special considerations for high altitude food preparation. Completion of the training satisfies the State of Colorado’s food safety training for cottage food sales. For further information, call 878-5227 to get on a class list, or stop by the CNCC Meeker Center at 345 Sixth St. on Tuesday or Wednesday to complete registrations.
