MEEKER | Meeker only had one match this week, a tough one against league opponent Hayden. Hayden is 5-9 and head coach Greg Cravens says that “doesn’t reflect how good they are getting.”
Defensively, the Tigers kept the ball in the air and Meeker had a very hard time finding the floor; hitting or tipping, they were digging the Cowboys.
The duo of Reese Clatterbaugh and Rylee Sullivan combined for 17 kills and Sullivan added 10 serving aces.
There is a busy and important week ahead for the Cowboys plus it is homecoming. The team will play Rangely in Rangely on Tuesday. It’s a non-league match but very important to their RPI and seeding.
“The Panthers are a very good team and we need to be at our best,” said Cravens.
Cedaredge is in town on Friday. The Bruins are 10-1 on the season and 10 in the 3A CHSAA Seeding index.
“Friday’s game will be big and will a good challenge for us,” commented Cravens.
Saturday doesn’t get any easier as West Grand comes to town. They are currently ahead of The Cowboys in the league standing and CHSAA Seeding index.
“We will have to be at our best all week long and the girls will be busy all week with all the homecoming activities,” wrapped up Cravens.
