Final phase of Circle Park construction underway; river access open at 3rd and 10th streets

PRESS RELEASE

MEEKER | ERBM Recreation & Park District and the Town of Meeker are moving forward with a final phase of long-term improvements to Circle Park and the White River corridor. Construction has been extended through late summer/early fall to accommodate Phase III upgrades, which include automated irrigation, a new vault toilet with ADA access, fencing, updated signage, improved park amenities, and renovated camping sites. These improvements reflect years of community feedback and are designed to enhance visitor experiences while ensuring recreational accessibility and environmental sustainability.

This project is the culmination of nearly a decade of steady enhancements along the White River, including recent work at Circle Park and earlier phases at Town Park. X Field Services has finalized the river bank stabilization and ADA accessible ramp, along with vegetation and drainage improvements and anticipated installation of an ADA accessible vault toilet. Bolton Construction has mobilized onsite to begin demolition of outdated campsites and begin construction activities for this final phase. X Field Services will follow with installation of the vault toilet and ADA path. The ERBM Parks & Facilities Maintenance team will contribute by upgrading key park amenities, as well.

In the meantime, Circle Park will remain closed to the public throughout the summer, including during the Fourth of July holiday. The park is traditionally a popular location for river access and fireworks viewing, and while we recognize this is disappointing news for many, the closure is necessary to maintain safety and support long-term success.

As a positive alternative, newly improved river access points at both 3rd Street and 10th Street are now open and available for public use. River users must refrain from exiting the river at Circle Park during construction and instead use the 10th Street access point.

“This project is a fantastic example of collaboration and teamwork between many entities,” stated Executive Director Josh Embrey. “The Town of Meeker, ERBM’s Board, our staff, our contractors, and this community have played a huge role in bringing this long-term vision to life. We’re proud of the work that’s gone into Circle Park and are excited to see these improvements serve Meeker for years to come.”

Progress updates will be posted on our website at erbmrec.com/news and on our social media pages @erbmrec.com. If you have any questions about the project, please call 970-878-3403. ERBM looks forward to welcoming you back to Circle Park soon.
