MEEKER I The It’s Showtime livestock club meeting kicked off with Cambrey, Mollee, and Miles leading the meeting with pledges, and we jumped into our ice breaker. Everyone had to firmly shake multiple hands and introduce themselves to one another. After that, Tatumn Kennedy read the secretary report, and due to Hayden Shults being absent, Montey Franklin read the treasurer’s report. Following this, Klayton and Teagan read the county council report.
As for important upcoming dates, the fair entry deadline and stall assignment deadlines were on July 15. Sign up for indoor interviews and livestock interviews as well. July 24 is the Rio Blanco County Shoot, July 30-31 is the horse show, and starting Aug. 2, fair week begins. Stall sign up is in the 4-H office.
Indoor record books are due with interviews on Aug. 2. Livestock record books are due Sept. 1. If you have not completed a demonstration, you must do an online demonstration before fair and email it to Brittany or you will not be able to complete your 4-H project. You also need to complete a community pride project before fair, and that can be pretty much any volunteer work that helps the community. It could be cleanup after the Thursday night rodeos, which are at 2 p.m. on Fridays. It could be sending a card to the wing, or just cleaning up a block or street in town. There is always trash laying around. That’s it for the July meeting, but make sure to check the newsletter, and other than that, have fun getting ready for fair!
