RANGELY | The eighth grade boys’ basketball A team and B team played two games each this past weekend in Steamboat. The A team was slow going at first against the Hayden Tigers, ending the first quarter losing 8-10. We were able to pick up the pace and finished the half 16-13. The second half went quickly and successfully due to Sydney Cole and Gabe Polley pulling down the majority of the rebounds. We ended the game successful, winning 30-15. Sydney Cole was lead scorer with 16, Gabe Polley with seven, Austin Davis with four, RJ Richens with two and Ben Nielsen with one. The next game against Steamboat wasn’t pretty. Rangely was completely out of energy and it resulted in a loss. The B team faced Steamboat’s B team twice. The first game was pretty rough and ended as a loss for the Panthers with a score of 15-32. Top scorer was Travis Coates with seven. The second game versus the Sailors was better. The Panthers came out on top winning 30-25.
