The lady Cowboy basketball team opened up the new year with a close game loss to the Little Snake Rattlers, 43-49.
It was a team contribution to the score with Charlie Rogers putting up nine, Rylee Sullivan eight, and Reese Clatterbaugh and Addie Knowles each seven. On the year Sullivan is leading the team in points per game and Ainsley Selle is leading with a 40% field goal percentage.
Senior Ellie Hossack leads assists and steals per game and is in her fourth year on the varsity team.
This weekend they will face two challenging teams in Olathe and then the number four ranking Grand Valley Cardinals. Olathe has the same record as the Cowboys but the Cardinals are undefeated.
The Cowboy offense has opened up as the season has progressed and the team will need to focus on both sides of the ball, rebounding well, and solid passing to come home with wins this weekend.
The team takes on Olathe on Friday and Grand Valley Saturday, both games are on the road.
