MEEKER | Persistence and improving are two words that describe how the lady Cowboy basketball team has been performing.
Two losses last weekend, and they have a record of 3-11.
“The Olathe game was so exciting,” commented assistant coach Marki Grant. “The girls were really clicking and we saw them implementing what we have been focusing on in practice.”
Olathe was able to pick up the win in the fourth quarter, final score 37-46, tightening the gap from the previous match by nine points.
For the fifth straight game, Ainsley Selle led with 13 points and Reese Clatterbaugh had nine and each had 12 rebounds.
On their home turf and for senior night, the Cowboys were unable to pull out a second win this season over the Roaring Fork Rams. Final score 48-57.
Selle put up another 13 points and Clatterbaugh 10 with 11 rebounds.
In this upcoming three game weekend. The Cowboys open up Little Snake River on Thursday, JV to begin at 4:30 p.m. The team will then hit their longest road trip so far, traveling to Gunnison Friday, games to begin at 4 p.m. and then Saturday in Cedaredge starting at 11 a.m.
