MEEKER | The lady Cowboys only played two of their three games this last week due to COVID and an injury on the Debeque team.

They continue their undefeated march across the Western Slope and now stand 11-0 overall and 9-0 on the Western Slope. They have only lost four sets out of the 47 they have played. In the rankings they are fourth in MaxPreps and in the combined poll for class 2A they are now sitting in third. Just above them are Denver Christian who is 7-0 and Wiggins in 11-2; Meeker, Denver Christian and Vail Christian are the only undefeated teams left in the top 10.

The following stats are for the games against Hayden and North Park.

Sophia Goedert had 33 assists, Sarah Kracht had two assists and Tatumn Kennedy had 39.

This is the final week of the regular season, and remaining in the top eight gives Meeker the opportunity to host regionals. This week they will host Plateau Valley on Thursday. PV currently has an 8-4 record and is sitting at 28 in the combined poll. Friday and Saturday, the last two matches before regionals, will be the hardest. Friday Meeker travels to Soroco to take on the 9-1 Rams who are ranked ninth in the state. Then Saturday number six Vail Christian will come to Meeker. These two games will be some of the hardest of the year, will decide who wins the league, and ultimately if Meeker will host regionals. Thursday’s games begin at 4:30 p.m. with C team, Friday at 4 p.m. with C team and then Saturday at 1 p.m. with C team.
