Special to the HT
RBC | The Meeker Chamber of Commerce continued supporting local businesses, assisting visitors, and promoting Meeker tourism throughout February.
In February, the Chamber assisted 66 individuals with questions related to lodging and dining, maps and directions, hunting and fishing information, local businesses, and general community and Chamber inquiries through a combination of in-person, phone, and online interactions. Visitor information packets covering OHV recreation, fishing, hunting, and relocation were also mailed to individuals in Silverthorne and Thornton, Colorado, as well as Vancouver, Washington.
Work is underway on Phase 2 of the Meeker marketing campaign, which will run from April through August and focus on continued digital promotion of the community. These digital promotions will be displayed on social media and YouTube, reaching audiences around the world. Residents may have already seen some of the promotional videos on the Visit Meeker Facebook and Instagram pages. This campaign is made possible through Lodging Tax funding dedicated to supporting tourism promotion and visitor outreach.
In February, the Chamber attended the Salt Lake Off-Road and Outdoor Expo thanks to an invitation from the Rangely Chamber of Commerce, joining them to promote our communities and the region’s extensive trail systems and outdoor recreation opportunities. The event featured approximately 250 vendors and attracted an estimated 30,000 attendees, providing an excellent opportunity to introduce new audiences to Meeker and the White River Valley.
A new banner directing travelers from Highway 13 to Main Street and river access was recently installed as part of ongoing visitor wayfinding efforts. White River Electric Association and High Rise Tree Service assisted with the installation. Due to recent weather conditions, the banner was temporarily taken down, and the Chamber is now exploring a more permanent solution that would allow the banner to be installed seasonally and last longer.
The Chamber is also partnering with Uplift Meeker on a 250/150 Coloring Contest celebrating Meeker’s 150th anniversary and Colorado’s 250th. Coloring sheets are available at the Meeker Chamber Visitor Center and the Meeker Regional Library, and completed artwork will be displayed at the library for community voting.
Meeker is also participating in the Colorado 64 County Passport Program as part of the 250/150 celebration. Visitors traveling the state to collect stamps from all 64 counties can stop by the Meeker Chamber Visitor Center to have their passport stamped.
The Chamber has also distributed a business survey through Facebook and the Chamber newsletter to gather feedback on what types of classes and resources local businesses would find most valuable. This feedback will help guide the planning of business education classes and networking opportunities expected to take place later this spring. The Chamber is also continuing work on the 2026 Meeker Community Directory, which is expected to go to print in May or earlier.
The Chamber is also pleased to welcome several new members: Steel Magnolia Doula Services, Keenan Ducey with Peak Capital, Social Media Madi, Water Pump Supply and Service, and Health Solutions West (formerly Mind Springs). The Chamber looks forward to supporting these businesses and organizations as they serve the community.
