MEEKER | The Meeker Cowboy cross country teams have spent their past few weekends running on some tough courses against great competition from schools of all sizes.
There was no separation this past weekend between varsity and JV at the Hotchkiss Invitational, only two races, boys’ and girls’ events. The Cowboys’ Ashdon Seibert was top competitor for the team, finishing with a time of 23 minutes 2.55 seconds.
“We had some really good competition, and saw some great racing,” said Cowboy head coach Marty Casey. “Improvements from everyone who raced here last year, and great representation from our freshmen.”
Another weekend on the road for the Meeker Cowboys, they will be attending the Eagle Valley Invitational at the Gypsum Creek Golf Course, Saturday, Sept. 15, with races starting at 10 a.m.
