MEEKER | The Devil’s Thumb Hill Climb in Delta is a course with a grueling climb, and was the location of the most recent cross country race for the Meeker Cowboys.
“This is a very difficult course, but a good early season workout,” said head coach Marty Casey. “We approached this as an opportunity to have some fun, and I think everyone did.”
A smaller race with no distinction between JV or varsity, only a girls’ race and a boys’ race, it was the first opportunity for the Cowboys to run a course together in competition this year.
Next up for Meeker cross country is Hotchkiss. The Hotchkiss Invitational will be on Saturday, Sept. 8 with high school races beginning at 10 a.m..
