MEEKER | The 2021 Cowboy basketball season came to close last Friday in Peyton.
The Cowboys, who were playing in the sweet 16, traveled to Peyton to take on the Panthers.
It was a close first half, tied up 22 all going into the third quarter.
“Their athleticism at the wings bothered us,” commented head coach Klark Kindler, “we had a hard time getting our offense going because of that.”
In the second half of the game the Cowboys were outscored 39-24. “They shoot really well and we knew that and knew it would be a problem,” said Kindler.
Top of the scoreboard for Meeker was Spud White with 17 and Ryan Phelan with 14 points. Phelan was also the leader off of the boards, with 10 total rebounds and White had 7.
This year’s seniors are White, Phelan, Braydon Garcia, Junior Gaeta, and Ethan Drake. “The seniors have provided excellent leadership and will do well in life,” wrapped up Kindler.
