MHS takes GJCC

MEEKER I The Cowboy runners headed south and west this past Friday to participate in the Grand Junction Cross Country Invitation ran at the Canyon View Park. A course which never seems to be the same from year to year was tackled by Perye Walter, Lathrop Hughes, Caleb Lange and Sam Lange competing against five other teams from the Western Slope.
Walter, who continues to see improvement, finished the course in 40th place with a time of 40:05. Hughes led the boys with an 18th place finish in a time of 19:09, and Caleb and Sam followed in with times of 20:38 and 25:06 respectively and earned 33rd and 56th place honors.
