Just a nice tasteful display that includes icicles, a tree, some inflatable figures, illuminated deer and a few lights on the shrubs, and the Leon Brown residence at 330 Stanolind Ave. in Rangely stands out among the many Rangely homes that have been decorated for the Christmas holiday.
The longest float in the parade belonged to the Rangely 4-H, which also captured second place in the parade float contest on Dec. 12 along Main Street in Rangely. Winners for parade floats: first to Alvin Holcomb, second to Rangely 4H and third to Rangely FFA; in the business decorations contest, first place went to Rangely Post Office, second went to Sweetbriar and third to Alliance Energy; for home decorating, the Over the Top Award went to Eddie Miller, the Griswold Award went to the Ganser Family, the Simply Homemade Award went to the Barnes Family, the Rockwell Award went to the Cushman Family and the Ornamental Award went to the Peck Family.
