MEEKER | All three of the Meeker Mustang teams traveled to Rifle for Saturday matchups against Aspen and Rifle.
Team D-1, of third and fourth graders, had a humbling morning against a tough Aspen squad. The coaches discussed with the kids the need to stay focused and felt it was a lesson learned.
The noon game featured Team Gold, one of the fifth and sixth-grade teams, in a decisive win against an unbeaten Aspen team.
Finishing the day, Team Black showed up with purpose and made quick work of the Rifle Bears mercy ruling them in the second half.
This coming Saturday will have the mighty Mustangs playing on their home field at Starbuck Stadium. These young athletes invite all to come on out to enjoy some fine football and a great burger.
