MEEKER | Week three of Mustang football had both teams traveling to Parachute.
First up, the D1, Little Dudes, took the field at 10 a.m. in what turned out to be a heartbreaking loss of 24-19. Having run the ball to the opposition’s 1-yard line, time ran out. Coaches will be working on the basics of tackling, blocking and confidence in preparation for another tough opponent in Glenwood Springs next week.
The D-2, Big Dudes, found the afternoon matchup to be a great result of the previous week’s hard work in practice. Fired up and scoring with fierce determination, the big boys saw the mercy rule come into effect late in the second quarter by scoring 28 plus points early on.
The balance of the season will be games against other unbeaten opponents starting with Glenwood Springs next week.
