RANGELY | Rangely’s Board of Trustees and Town Administration held a meet and greet in lieu of the formal meeting on April 25, 2023. The change in style allowed the public to be introduced to each board member and supervisor of town administration.
Each supervisor offered updates from their department and an opportunity to receive questions. Some of the top points brought up included the management of public utilities and safety from the police department.
Public utility management will always come with difficult decisions, and the board thanked the supervisor for their efforts to do their best. Public safety concerns focused on how to educate and protect children on motorized bikes and vehicles that do not respect the conditions of the ordinances. In Rangely, youth can ride various off-road vehicles, dirt bikes, and golf carts on the back streets. Safety and respect need to be understood and prioritized.
The town continues to pursue grants from the federal and state government to accomplish the needs and desires of the town. Southern Sweet Tea catered for the meeting, held at The Gathering Place, 616 E Main St. The board and administration hope to hold another meet and greet quarterly to increase public involvement. Regular business will resume at the next meeting on May 9, 2023.
