Cue the palindromes!

A palindrome is a word, phrase or sequence that reads the same forward and backward. This week’s dates, starting April 20 and continuing through April 29, are all palindromes — 4-25-24, 4-26,24, etc. Next year the sequence will occur in May.

Single word palindromes appear frequently in English, like radar, Mom, Dad, civic, kayak and racecar. Then there are the phrases…

“Dammit I’m mad” is a palindrome, too. As is “Oozy rat in a sanitary zoo.” “Borrow or rob.” Words are fun, right? On to the news…
