Your community news roundup: February 1, 2024

Greetings and Happy Groundhog Day, or, for those of us in Rio Blanco County, Happy Yellow-Bellied Marmot Day!

“I’m a rodent, not a meteorologist.”

Our marmots are *supposed* to be hibernating until April or May, but we’ve had at least TWO confirmed sightings during our weirdly warm weather. Here’s hoping they’re just grabbing a lil’ snack and will descend back into their dens when/if the snow hits. We shall see!

Now that we’re all caught up on the weather happenings, let’s get to the news from this week’s edition.

Weekend plans?
