Mary Anne was born in Concordia, Kansas, the fourth of nine children to Don and Emmye Desilet. She went to school in Concordia and had many adventures with her siblings and friends. She was united in marriage to Richard J. Collins Sr., “the tall, good-looking guy with the blue convertible,” on Oct. 9, 1965, and to this union five children were born. He preceded her in death Oct. 16, 2013.

She was widely known for her sense of humor, her culinary skills, devotion to her family and friends, care of her husband to the end of his life, her ability to have a joke whenever she’d see an opportunity to.

She’s survived by her siblings, Sue Brock, Ron Desilet, Mike Desilet, Stephanie Teeselink, Denise Nixon, Rebekah Ballard and Gayle McDaniel; sister-in-love Elaine Collins; brothers-in-law Norman Collins and Ted Collins; her kids Richard J. Collins Jr. (Marcella), Cathy Collins, Candace Collins, Clinton Collins and Justin Collins; along with 11 grandkids, one great-grandkid and two on the way; as weAll as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded by her parents, his parents, her husband, sisters Donna Brummett and Marley Jackson, sister-in-love Mary Johnson, nephew Ryan Zohn along with “Dad” Noble Payne. Cremation has taken place and services are pending.
