Dear Editor: The 2014 White River Community Association’s Fish Fry this past Saturday was a tremendous success. With the help of some very dedicated folks, we were able to serve crispy fried white fish and delicious side dishes to about 250 attendees.

MEEKER I Nine students from Meeker High School recently completed a research and conservation expedition to Belize under the auspices of Ecology Project International. While in Belize, the group participated in a wide variety of educational and cultural projects.

Eleven Meeker wrestlers competed in the Paonia Summer Duals, and many wrestled more than 12 matches during the two-day event, which featured 4A and 5A teams from Colorado along with teams from Nebraska, Arizona and New Mexico.

Museum grant…
Encana has given grant money to the Rangely Museum for the second time to spruce up its 1913 schoolhouse. While an earlier grant two years ago purchased new blinds for the schoolhouse, the newest $9,000 donation has been used to fix windows, remodel some siding and paint the structure.

White River Electric hosted its 30th annual golf tournament and fundraiser Friday, June 13 and had 75 players participate. The event was co-sponsored by Mountain Valley Bank and $3,000 was raised as a result of the event.
