Spaulding, Choate win Ladies’ Deer Fly tournament
MEEKER I Rifle’s Kenda Spaulding and Battlement Mesa’s Britt Choate teamed up to win the annual Ladies’ Deer Fly Scramble, held at the Meeker Golf Course June 7, but Meeker’s Peggy Back and Patty Edwards represented the local course well, finishing with the best net score in the event.

Meeker won’t do local tree chipping

Push America, Pi Kappa Phi disability fundraiser to be held in Dinosaur
DINOSAUR I On Wednesday, a group of fraternity men will be in Dinosaur as a stop on the journey of their lives. The 26 cyclists and nine crew members are participating in Push America’s Journey of Hope, a 3,600-mile cycling event across the country.
MSD budget available; only $150,000 of reserve funds needed
MEEKER I Meeker School District’s RE-1 (MSD) budget for fiscal year 2014-15 is available at the administration building for public review. The budget estimates $5.7 million in revenue, $5.8 million in expenses with a $150,000 deficit to be covered by reserves.
