HOME OF: Ruby Hart
MEEKER | Ruby Hart moved to Meeker in 1931 with her parents Lute and Ella Armstrong. Ruby’s husband Freeman Hart died in 1967. Ruby has “always been a cook.” She cooked at Pioneers Medical Center, Meeker Middle School, where the school district administration building is now, and Barone Middle School.
Yearbook staff shows movies for fundraiser
MEEKER I As a fundraiser, Meeker High School’s yearbook staff will show two movies on Sunday, April 25 at the high school. At 1:30 p.m., “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel” (PG) will be shown. At 3:30 p.m., “Avatar” (PG-13) will be shown, but not in 3-D.
ERBM sponsors annual Spring Social today

WATER FIGHT: Landowners upset over Yellow Jacket plan
MEEKER I Every six years, the Yellow Jacket Water Conservancy District is required by law to file for “a finding of due diligence,” in order to preserve its conditional water rights.
DOMESTIC CASE: Deferred sentence granted
MEEKER I Paul Martin pleaded guilty to third-degree assault of domestic violence against his wife and was given a two-year deferred sentence Monday.
Health fairs Saturday in Meeker, Rangely
RBC I The 9 Health Fairs will be held this Saturday in Meeker and Rangely. In Meeker, the health fair will be from 7-11 a.m. at the Fairfield Center; in Rangely, the health fair will be from 7 a.m. to noon at the Early Education Center.
