RANGELY I Statistically, the Panthers came out on the short end, except in the one stat that really matters — the final score. Despite being outrebounded 40-25 and having 15 fewer assists, Rangely won another league game Friday, beating Paonia 68-64.

MEEKER I Jon Burnell, son of Jody (and Caleb) Gardner and Sam Burnell, all formerly of Meeker, has entered into basic training for the U.S. Army in Fort Sill, Okla. He will graduate in March.
November incidents down 10.3 percent from 2008
RBC | During November 2009, the Rio Blanco County Communications Center logged 819 incidents, down from November 2008 totals of 913, which is a 10.3 percent decrease in activity. However, the number of incidents for 2009 has increased 1.8 percent year-to-date.
Obituary: Linda Adcock
Linda Jeanne Brannan Zuleger Adcock passed away on Jan. 13, 2010, at her home that she shared with Craig Mahoney in St. Louis. Linda was born on April 4, 1969, to Richard Lee and Linda Gail Brannan.
Cowboys take two
MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys picked up two crucial league victories over the weekend, stopping the Hayden Tigers 64-54, and then cruising past the Vail Christian Saints on Saturday 67-40.

MEEKER I Barone’s eighth-grade girls’ basketball teams had a good week. First, the middle schoolers won against a shorthanded Rangely team 47-14 last Thursday and then beat Steamboat Springs 42-8 on Saturday.
