Cowboys win three, are Granby champs

MEEKER I The Meeker Cowboys traveled to Granby last weekend to participate in the Mountain Parks Electric High Country Invitational tournament. Meeker won all three games it played in the tournament to claim the champion trophy, beating Love Christian, West Grand and Middle Park.

MHS wrestles shorthanded

MEEKER I “It was fun,” Cowboy wrestling coach Joe Gutierrez said of a tournament last Saturday in Kremmling. “We’re starting to gel together.” Because of injury and eligibility, only five wrestlers competed, but Gutierrez said most of the wrestlers traveled to the West Grand tournament.

Loose Ends: Caring and sharing

Harpers Corner Road will close Jan. 1

DINOSAUR I Superintendent Mary Risser announced that Dinosaur National Monument’s Harpers Corner Road, which begins two miles east of Dinosaur, on U.S. Highway 40 and runs 31 miles north into the monument, will close to the public on Jan. 1.
