RANGELY | On Thursday, Nov. 10, Rangely’s junior high basketball hosted Meeker. The seventh grade B team came out looking for their first win, and they earned it. They played well ending the game with a score of 12-10, with multiple scorers.
Drake Miller led the scoring with six points followed by Chase Beard with four and Luis Quintana with two.
“Chase really stepped up this week,” said coach Jimmie Mergelman.
The A team followed with a tough game. Rangely lost with a score of 17-27. Andrew Dorris and Keihlin Myers both had six points followed by Marstan Wagner with three, and Timothy Scoggins with two.
“They are really improving every week. We need to figure out how to come out strong at the beginning of the game and after half time. That is what we are struggling with because we dig ourselves a hole that we have to get out of,” Mergelman said.
