MEEKER I The Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award was established by the Boy Scouts of America in 2016 to recognize the valuable contributions that educators make in the lives of young people. The Boy Scouts of America’s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes, and we recognize that teachers, staff, administrators, and others involved in educating young people are valuable partners in that mission. This award exists to recognize individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty to instill what we refer to as “Scouting Values,” and we recognize that they are great “Teaching Values” as well.
Ben Quinn has been selected as a recipient of this award due not only to his diligence in his creative fine arts classroom duties, but also his commitment to the school and community. Quinn was nominated for this award in recognition of his extraordinary role modeling and professional artistry on behalf of Meeker School District Re-1 students. The Boy Scouts of America is pleased to honor Ben Quinn as a Fretwell Outstanding Educator, and to thank him for the servant leadership that he has given and will continue to give to influence young people to exemplary and inspired creative contributions and moral and ethical choices.
