RANGELY | The eighth grade Panthers ended their season last weekend. Eighth grade B team went to Meeker for the district tournament. In game one they played Moffat County beating them in two matches to advance to the championship against Steamboat. The Panthers took the Sailors down in two matches. Karlee Halcomb did an excellent job leading her team with serves and assists. Emme Wagner and Alyson Coker did a great job on defense and attacking the ball at the net, as well as Rylee Wagner.
The eighth grade A team traveled to Soroco for their district tournament in a nine-team tournament. They played East Grand first round of the tournament beating them in two sets. Kaitlyn Cox got on a roll early and served great scoring 10 points in match one. They moved on to play North Park in the semifinals where they fell in three matches. We played well, just a few things didn’t go our way. Ryann Mergelman scored 20 points on serve and played well at the net. Annika Cantrell and Emma Smith had some great plays at the net.
