PRESS RELEASE
The Town of Dinosaur and the Town of Rangely are coordinating on an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) to cover dispatch services and non-emergent calls and assist officers in need. The agreement has been in the works for a while, according to Rangely Police Chief Ti Hamblin, who updated the town’s board of trustees on Nov. 28.
Also discussed was a plan for Rangely police officers to have access to the rec center through a memorandum of understanding, results from the Polar Plunge fundraiser, and discussion about installing a school resource officer. Hamblin said his department has responded to more calls to Rangely High School recently than usual.
Renovations are ongoing at White River Village and are on a tight schedule for completion, said Town Manager Lisa Piering. Residents have been lodged at Eagle Crest during construction. The Town of Rangely received a $40K grant from the County Capital Improvement Trust Fund to assist with the project.
