MEEKER | The Rio Blanco County Board of County Commissioners has been approached about the potential elimination of term limits for the Assessor, Clerk and Recorder, County Commissioner(s) and Treasurer.
There will be an initial discussion of this issue during the Board of Commissioner’s regular meeting on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
As part of the decision process, the Board will hold public hearings to gather community input on the issue as follows:
• April 28, 2026 – Rangely
• May 5, 2026 – Meeker
If the Commissioners ultimately decide to refer the proposed ballot questions, they will appear on the Nov. 3, 2026, General Election ballot, allowing Rio Blanco County voters to decide whether to maintain or remove the current two-term limit for these elected positions.
