The Meeker High School cross country season ended at the regional meet this year. Brighton Bair was Meeker’s top finisher in the girls’ race, at 22 minutes 17 seconds, and 14th place overall. Savannah Mendenhall again was Meeker’s second to finish, in 29th place at 23:43. Ainsley Selle dropped more than 30 seconds from her previous best for a new personal record of 24:22, and 38th place. Nora Gianinetti was close behind, in 41st place, at 24:35. Our fifth runner, Aiyana McCook, ran the course in 27:53 for 60th place. The girls were seventh out of 13 team scores.
The boys’ race found Ethan Drake and Shane Kobald racing each other to the line for 24th and 25th places at 19:21.26 and 19:21.30 respectively. Gabe Richardson was Meeker’s third to finish, at 19:57 and 38th. Ashdon Seibert took 64th place at 22:19, and Gage Richardson was 68th, at 22:46. The boys were 10th in team scoring. “We saw some serious competition at the regional meet this year. We had some good performances, as Ethan and Ainsley both put up new PR’s,” said head coach Marty Casey. “I want to thank all of our runners, especially those new to cross country, for all of their work this season.”
