Members of the Meeker Golf Course Association are pictured with the Rio Blanco County Cup, which will be displayed for the next year in Meeker’s Clubhouse after Rio Blanco County’s east-side golfers outplayed the westsiders in the annual two-day event. Twenty-four golfers from Rangely’s Cedar Ridges Golf Course traveled to Meeker with the Cup to compete against 29 golfers from Meeker in a mixed format including a two-man scramble, then two-man best ball played Saturday and match play played Sunday. Meeker led 18.5 to 13.5 after Saturday’s games and won 36.5 to 24.5 after Meeker golfers won 17 of 29 matches Sunday. “Everyone would like to thank Dan Schwartz (the new golf course manager) for a job well done on the course and for welcoming everyone to play,” said Meeker Golf Assn. president Mark Litzelman. | FLOYD COX COURTESY PHOTO
