ARRESTS
4-24-2026: Meeker PD arrested a 38-year-old male, charging him with third-degree assault and menacing. Party was issued a summons and released to a sober party.
CALL SUMMARIES
4-19-2026 @ 4:44 pm. Reporting party contacted dispatch to report a missing person. A follow-up by the responding officer determined the individual was not missing at all. The individual had been checked in at a five-star hotel in Butte, Montana—also known as the luxury suite at the jail where he has been in custody since his arrest on April 15th.
4-22-2026 @ 11:38 am. An officer responded to a report of a male walking around MGM who appeared to be wearing no pants or underwear. Upon locating the individual, the officer confirmed the man was actually wearing shorts beneath a long shirt. The officer politely suggested that he make more appropriate fashion choices when visiting that store in the future.
4-24-2026 @ 11:36 am. Dispatch was advised of a semi traveling eastbound on Highway 64 at a high rate of speed and crossing the double yellow line. Deputies were advised of the situation and repeatedly observed the semi move towards the center line. Consequently, a deputy issued a citation for weaving.
4-24-26 @ 11:46 pm. Communications received a 911 call reporting a physical altercation between two men. One individual was subsequently charged with third-degree assault and menacing. Due to injuries sustained during the altercation, he was transported to the hospital for treatment. Following his medical evaluation, he was issued a summons and released to a sober party.
4-25-2026 @ 8:41 am. Rio Blanco Sheriff’s Office assisted the Meeker Volunteer Fire Department with a brush fire near mile marker 68 on Highway 64 heading toward Rangely. The fire was caused by hay that had fallen off a trailer and subsequently ignited along the side of the road.
4-25-2026 @ 9:47 am. An Apple Crash Detection alerted to a motor vehicle crash at mile marker 53 on Highway 64. The vehicle owner subsequently contacted dispatch to clarify that no accident had occurred; the alert was triggered when her phone fell to the floor of the vehicle.
