ARRESTS
A 39 year old male was arrested on 4/29/2023 on a Rio Blanco County warrant. He bonded on a surety bond on the same day. A 47 year old male was arrested on 4/28/2023 on a violation of protection order. A 33 year old male was arrested by Rangely PD on 4/24/2023 on an assault warrant. A surety bond was issued and the male bonded on 4/25/2023.
CALL SUMMARIES
4/24/2023 @ 8:54 pm. A traffic complaint was called in to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office regarding a semi that continued to travel into the wrong lane due to zero visibility caused from a blizzard. Colorado State Patrol was able to locate and stop the semi.
4/26/2023 @ 9:24 am. Someone reported that they had been called bad names by a known suspect. An officer responded and determined this not to be a violation of the law.
4/26/2023 @ 12:10 pm. A local business in Meeker found several syringes and other contraband in a trash can. All items were disposed of at the fire department. No suspects have been identified.
4/28/2023 @ 2:36 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD with a disturbance. One male was taken into custody by Rangely PD for a protection order violation.
4/28/2023 @ 11:23 pm. A suspicious party was reported in the town limits of Meeker. The male party had gone up to a residence and after seeing the camera, took off. An officer checked the area for any suspicious behavior.
4/28/2023 @ 10:42 pm. A male party was arrested by Meeker PD on a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.
4/29/2023 @ 10:47 am. A traffic control worker staying at a hotel in Meeker reported that nearly 100 cones were stolen from a work truck that was parked in the parking lot. About 30 minutes later the Sheriff located the missing cones on Highway 64 near mile-marker 32. Meeker police officer recontacted the worker and the worker now remembered driving off the road to miss a deer and that could have dumped the cones in the bar ditch. Property was returned to the worker.
4/27/2023 Rio Blanco Sheriff’s Search and Rescue held its annual Poker Run fundraiser at the Rangely ROAR event this past weekend. There were over 50 registrations. It was a safe and eventful weekend for all involved.
