4-24-2026 @ 1:33 p.m. A summons was issued regarding the unlawful ownership of a dangerous dog in the county. The summons specifies that the animal in question inflicted bodily injury on an individual.

4-26-2026 @ 6:14 p.m. Reportedly, a loose dog was heading home with a chicken in its mouth. After returning home, it’s chicken dinner was interrupted when the owner removed and disposed of the chicken. It was understood that the dog’s owner had already spoken with the chicken’s owner about the situation.

4-27-2026 @ 1:45 p.m. Juvenile males are believed to have caused damage to the Town Park bathrooms. Camera footage shows teen boys vandalizing said bathrooms by ripping down the paper towel holder and soap dispenser, destroying both.

4-29-26 @ 1:36 p.m. Regarding the reports of cattle rustling in Rio Blanco County, a quick investigation conducted with the assistance of the county brand inspector has determined that no criminal activity occurred. The individual who initially reported the incident has been instructed on the proper procedures for recovering their cattle, which are currently being held for safekeeping.

4-30-2026 @ 10:04 a.m. Report of an incident involving a client at the Bank of the San Juans was called in. The bank contacted Meeker PD in regards to a client being targeted by individuals claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House. The client was repeatedly instructed via the Google Meet app to withdraw large sums of money. Fortunately, the bank assisted the client in disabling the app, and no fraud occurred.
