ARRESTS
4/10/2026 – Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 23 year-old female on a Violation of a Protection Order, Harassment and Domestic Violence. She was taken to jail.
CALL SUMMARIES
4/7/2026 @ 4:45 pm. A possible DUI driver was reported to Colorado State Patrol. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted in locating the vehicle and the driver politely participated in roadside sobriety tests. In the end, the driver passed with flying colors and was found to be sober. He was sent on his way and hopefully his driving behavior straightened up.
4/9/2026 @ 12:12 pm. A pole was reported to be on fire near the intersection of Highway 13 and County Road 8. It did not turn out to be a large fire and the fire dept. was able to clear the scene quickly.
4/9/2026 @ 4:35 pm. A juvenile riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle. The driver left the scene and law enforcement was unable to locate the suspect vehicle. The juvenile was evaluated by ambulance personnel on-site and did not require transport to the hospital.
4/10/2026 @ 9:34 am. A deputy responded to a report of a protection order violation following a verbal disagreement between the involved parties the previous night. The female suspect had initially requested a welfare check on the male party; however, she was subsequently taken into custody for Violation of a Protection Order, Harassment and Domestic Violence. She was transported to jail.
4/11/2026 @ 1:01 pm. A deputy came across a sheep out of its pasture near mile marker 71 on Highway 64. After attempting to convince her to return home, it became clear this sheep had a full itinerary and no interest in turning back. Later the owner was notified, but even they couldn’t talk her out of her countryside adventure. At this point, she was basically on a self-guided tour of Meeker. She was last seen heading up County Road 8 and appears to be making her way to what we can only assume is her summer vacation spot.
4/11/2026 @ 5:35 pm. A single-vehicle accident occured at mile marker 39 on Highway 64. The sole occupant of the vehicle was transported to the hosptal. CSP is investigating the accident.
