8/12/2024 A 42 year-old female was transported from Mesa County Detentions to jail on a warrant out of Rio Blanco County for Failure to Appear.
8/16/2024 A 20 year-old male was arrested by Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office for Domestic Violence, False Imprisonment and 2nd Degree Burglary.
CALL SUMMARIES
8/11/2024 @ 1:57 pm. When trying to show off for his girlfriend, a male party crashed his dirtbike near County Rd. 23a & Rodeo Rd.
8/12/2024 @ 3:35 pm. A deputy was dispatched to check the welfare of two juveniles that were riding their bicycles on Highway 139. The two young boys told the deputy they were running away from home. With no sign of physical abuse or malnourishment, the boys were taken back to their residence in Rangely. A referral was made to the Department of Human Services. The investigation is ongoing.
8/12/2024 @ 8:59 pm. An electric vehicle broke down on Highway 13 when it lost power. Since the tow was several hours from being able to recover the vehicle, the driver was given a ride into Meeker.
8/14/2024 @ 5:07 am. A single car accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 13 & County Rd 5. The single occupant was injured and transported to the hospital.
8/14/2024 @ 11:36 am. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD with a crash that occurred on Main St. in the town limits.
8/16/2024 @ 2:19 am. A suspicious incident was called into the Communications Center regarding a female party that was home alone and an ex-boyfriend broke
into her residence. The victim locked herself in the bathroom until the suspect left. The suspect was later located by a deputy. He was arrested and taken to jail.
8/17/2025 @ 8:29 am. A backcountry rescue was initiated when a male party fell off a truck and was injured on Forest Service Rd 250. Ultimately the male was flown from the scene by helicopter.
8/17/2024 @ 10:51 am. A camper fire was reported on County Rd. 46.
Unfortunately a dog was deceased in the fire. The owner of the camper was taken to the hospital. Two firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation on the scene responded to clear the road. The road was cleared at 3:36 pm.
