ARRESTS
A 39 yr old male was arrested 8/22 on an aggravated motor vehicle theft. He is still in custody.
A 42 yr old male was arrested 8/26 on a RBC felony warrant. He is still in custody.
CALL SUMMARIES
8/20/2023 @ 5:15 pm. There was a disturbance at the Trail and Hitch RV park. The manager asked a man to put his dog on a leash. After threatening to fight the manager, the man was asked to leave. He began arguing wanting a refund for his campsite. After talking with a deputy, the man left with no other issues.
8/21/2023 @ 07:02 pm. A concerned parent called in to report that her son and a friend were fighting over a sword when the friend went after her son and their chicken with a BB gun. It was believed that one of the chickens had been hit with a BB and injured. The parents and children were advised to avoid contact.
8/22/2023 @ 07:14 pm. A one vehicle crash was reported on County Road 6. A car went off the road due to a dog climbing onto the drivers lap. No injuries were reported.
8/22/2023 @ 03:35 pm. A party called stating he saw one of the stolen motorcycles that was reported missing. Upon investigation, it was indeed one of the motorcycles with an effort being made to disguise the bike by painting it and grinding off the VIN number. The suspect was arrested and put into custody.
8/23/2023 @ 10:02 pm. A crash occurred at mile-marker 66 on Highway 64. The driver initially hit a deer then ended up hitting another car. No injuries were incurred by either party.
8/24/2023 @ 05:33 pm. A 66 year old male was reported missing up near Trappers Lake. He had not returned from a hike the day before. Garfield County asked if our agency could assist them in the search. SAR was called in for help. A helicopter was dispatched later and found the lost hiker within a couple hours. He was OK after a long wet night and wanted to be dropped off at his camp.
8/25/2023 @ 06:39 am. It was reported that there was a lot of rocks and mud on County Road 5 from all the rain of Thursday night’s storm. There were also boulders reported in the roadway on Highway 64.
