CALL SUMMARIES
8/24/2024- During District Court proceedings a hacker got into the State system presenting themselves as Rio Blanco County Jail. Inappropriate content was then displayed for all to see who were attending court virtually.
8/25/2024 @ 4:37 pm. A single vehicle injury accident was reported at the 8 mile-marker on Highway 64. The single occupant was transported to the hospital.
8/29/2024 @ 2:12 am. A male party started his stint of calling 911 inappropriately during this early morning hour. His “emergency” was that someone had stolen a large amount of money from him in Clifton and also wanted to let the dispatcher know he was getting married to his ex-wife in a few hours. He continued to call 911 several times.
8/29/2024 @ 11:42 am. DO NOT READ THIS SUMMARY OUT LOUD….if you say “Hey Siri, call 911” she will! Another caller discovered this while reading Rio Happenings in last week’s newspaper.
8/30/2024 @ 1:24 am. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD with a disturbance call in town limits. Once on scene it was determined that a dog was having a seizure and the owners were stressed out about the situation. There was no crime committed.
8/31/2024 @ 4:41 am. Meeker PD was dispatched to a town business with its power cut and an item moved from its normal location to the middle of the street. As the officer did more investigation he continued to find several damaged items and other suspicious acts throughout the town. The investigation is ongoing.
8/31/2024 @ 10:08 am. A hit-and-run accident was reported on 2nd St. in the town limits of Meeker. No suspect information was known at the time of the report.
