ARRESTS
A 28 year-old male was arrested on 8/4/2024 by Rangely PD and taken to jail for Domestic Violence and False Imprisonment. He remains in custody.
CALL SUMMARIES
8/4/2024 @ 2:33 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD on a domestic violence situation in the town limits of Rangely. The male subject was arrested by Rangely PD and taken to jail.
8/4/2024 @ 6:28 pm. A wildfire was reported at approximately the 68 mile-marker on Highway 64. The cause of the fire was lightning and burned approximately 1/8 acre on private land. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept cleared the scene at 8:21 pm.
8/5/2024 @ 10:49 pm. Two juveniles rolled a tire into a door of a residence in the town limits of Meeker and caused several pictures to fall. The homeowner had a camera and was able to identify the suspects positively. Both juveniles were issued citations.
8/7/2024 @ 5:05 pm. A single tree fire started by lightning on Highway 13 at the 36 mile-marker. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded and the fire was contained at 8:50 pm.
8/8/2024 @ 10:31 pm. Rio Blanco County Communications received a call from a female at the Meeker Fairgrounds “trapped” in a hopeless and helpless situation as her arm was stuck in handcuffs. With the joint effort of Meeker PD and Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. the handcuffs were removed.
8/9/2024 @ 12:24 pm. A mudslide caused the road to be closed in both directions at the 9 mile-marker on County Road 5. Road and Bridge responded to clear the road. The road was cleared at 3:36 pm.
8/9/2024 @ 8:58 pm. A fatal car accident occurred at the 35 mile-marker on Highway 13. The accident involved two vehicles and a total of 3 patients. Colorado State Patrol is investigating the accident.
