CALL SUMMARIES
- 8/8/2022 @ 5:01 PM. A suspicious vehicle was observed by a caller in the area of the 37 mile-marker County Road 8. Upon the deputy’s arrival, the vehicle and driver were allowed to be there. Nothing suspicious found.
- 8/9/2022 @ 8:22 am. An owner of a boat reported their boat stolen. After further investigation by the owner, the boat had been camouflaged by the cattails on the lake.
- 8/9/2022 @ 3:10 pm. Near the County Annex building in Rangely, a water pump was reported on fire. The fire was put out and no injuries were reported.
- 8/10/2022 @8:44 am. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check on County Road 2. The male subject was issued a citation for protection order violation. Rangely Police Dept. also had a warrant for the subject and responded with the deputy. The male subject was subsequently arrested and brought to the Rangely Court, where he received a PR Bond.
- 8/11/2022 @ 8:02 am. A non-injury, two vehicle crash was reported at 1st/Garfield in the town limits of Meeker.
- 8/11/2022- Several smoke reports were called in today due to a storm that produced a lot of lightning the evening before. All smoke reports were on BLM property.
- 8/12/2022 @ 11:27 pm. A reporting party called in a burning smell in the area of 9th/Water St. in the Town of Meeker. An officer responded and determined that food was the source of the burning smell.
- 8/13/2022 @ 4:51 pm. A passerby called 911 reporting that a bear was eating on a dead elk on the side of Highway 13. No response was necessary as the bear was doing no wrong.
- 8/13/2022 @ 11:04 pm. An overdue party was reported in the area of Dunckley Pass. Approximately 40 minutes later the reporting party received a text that the party was okay.
- 8/13/2022 @ 3:00 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely Police Dept. on the arrest of a domestic violence suspect.
- 8/14/2022- Communications received several smoke reports on County Road 5 (Piceance Creek Rd) and Highway 64. BLM Fire handled all calls and did not need any local resources to respond.
