ARRESTS
Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office transported a female from Rock Springs Jail to Jail on 1/4/2024 for a Nationwide Warrant for Theft. The female bonded on
1/5/2024. There were no other arrests this week.
CALL SUMMARIES
1/1/2024 @ 11:50 am. A homeowner in the town limits of Meeker believed that his front window had been shot through. The incident occured 2 nights prior to the caller reporting it. Possible suspect information was provided to the officers.
1/2/2024 @ 4:57 pm. A burglary was reported from a property on Lions Canyon Rd. The case is under investigation.
1/3/2024 @ 9:43 pm. A credible threat regarding a student that was going to “shoot up” Barone Middle School in Meeker was investigated by Meeker PD and Rio Blanco County SO. Extra patrol was provided, no incident occured.
1/4/2024 @ 11:00 am. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s office assisted Rangely Ambulance with a leg injury that occured at Deserado Mine.
1/4/2024 @ 3:46 pm. Several County Road signs were reported stolen on County Road 8
1/5/2024 @ 12:45 pm. A traffic complaint was called into the Communications Center. The reporting party stated that a male was drinking alcohol before driving northbound on Highway 13 towards Meeker. A deputy located the vehicle on Highway 64 and did not witness any impaired driving. The driver of the semi ultimately stopped near the 47 mile-marker on Highway 64 and the deputy contacted him. Again, the deputy did not detect any signs of impaired driving.
1/6/2024 @ 7:30 pm. A male party was given a summons for engaging in exhibition of speed after he reportedly “spit rocks” at someones vehicle and caused damage at a business located in Meeker.
