ARRESTS

There were no arrests for the week of December 11, 2022

CALL SUMMARIES

12/12/2022 @ 3:19 pm. A rollover crash was reported at the top of Nine Mile on Highway 13. The driver was transported for minor injuries.

12/12/2022 @ 8:13 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office and Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to assist Garfield County on a vehicle fire that occurred just inside Garfield County on Highway 13. No ambulance was needed.

12/13/2022 @ 7:28 am. The west bound lane of Highway 64 at County Road 65 became completely blocked due to a semi that jack-knifed. The entire highway had to eventually be closed to allow a tow truck to assist the semi out of the situation.

12/14/2022 @ 10:51 am. A rollover crash occurred at approximately the 43-mile marker on Highway 64. The driver obtained minor injuries.

12/14/2022 @ 1:35 pm. A toothless and antlerless elk was found deceased near the 4 mile-marker of County Road 5.

12/16/2022 @ 9:25 pm. A structure fire in the town limits of Meeker was called into Rio Blanco County Communications Center. One person was transported to Pioneers Hospital. The Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. reported the fire out at 9:47 pm.

12/17/2022 @ 12:24 pm. While enroute to an accident, a deputy’s patrol truck hit a juvenile bald eagle. There was no damage to the patrol truck, however, the eagle had a broken leg. Since the deputy was responding to an accident, Meeker PD gave the injured eagle a courtesy ride to Colorado Parks & Wildlife. The eagle offered a little resistance while being detained but eventually accepted the courtesy ride and was a model passenger the rest of the trip. We wish our feathered friend a speedy recovery!

12/17/2022 @ 3:12 pm. A structure fire was reported in the town limits of Rangely. There were no injuries. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD and Rangely Volunteer Fire Dept.
