RIO HAPPENINGS: December 3-9, 2023

ARRESTS

On 12/6/2023 a Rio Blanco Sheriff Deputy arrested a 65 year old male for internet sexual exploitation of a child, internet luring of a child and criminal attempt to commit sexual assault on a child and taken to Moffat County Jail. He was released on a cash surety bond.

CALL SUMMARIES

12/3/2023 @ 2:42 am. An alert neighbor called in that someone was walking around with a flashlight south of their residence. It happened to be the the other neighbor out walking around. Everything was OK.

12/4/2023 @ 8:27 am. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangley Volunteer Fire Dept. at the 2 mile-marker on County Road 1 with what was reported as a dumpster fire. Upon the deputy’s arrival it was determined to be steam coming off the pipes.

12/5/2023 @ 3:12 pm. A grease theft was reported to Meeker PD from a local restaurant. Approximatley $50.00 worth of grease was stolen within the last 2 months. No suspect information was known.

12/5/2023 @ 8:03 pm. A trespasser left their sunglasses at a residence on County Road 2. The reporting party stated that someone had walked into their house, left a pair of sunglasses and walked around. No suspect information was known.

12/6/2023 @ 5:36 pm. After a several month long investigation, Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant and arrested a 65 year old male on several charges to include internet sexual exploitation of a child, internet luring of a child and criminal attempt to commit sexual assualt on a child.

12/7/2023 @ 11:36 pm. A domestic violence call was reported in town limits of Meeker on Hill St. Law Enforcement responded and confirmed that nothing physical had happened and the parties separated for the evening.

12/8/2023 @ 5:45 pm. A female party called dispatch to let them know the doors to a building in town limits of Meeker were open and she would  be sleeping there. An officer responded and checked all exterior doors. They were all locked and secure.

12/9/2023 @ 11:57 am. Rio Blanco Communications received a call from the phone app Life 360 regarding an accident on County Road 21. There was no accident and the driver confirmed they had just braked hard.
