ARRESTS

2/9/2025 – Rangely PD arrested a 22 year-old male for Harassment and Criminal Mischief. He was released on bond.  

CALL SUMMARIES

2/04/2025 @ 7:03 am. A couple was reported to be stopped along Highway 13 at mile-marker 22. A female jumped out into traffic making obscene gestures at the reporting party as they drove by. A deputy responded but was unable to locate the couple. 

2/06/2025 @ 4:55 pm. Bank of the San Juans reported a person at the drive through trying to cash a forged check. Before authorities could arrive, the vehicle was gone and could not be located.  

2/07/2025 @ 9:30 am. US Bank called in reporting suspected elder abuse. It was believed that someone was trying to access the victim’s account from  Florida. Steps were taken to protect the account.  

2/07/2025 @ 2:49 pm. An ex-employee of a moving company was reported  to have stolen thousands of dollars from a local resident who had belongings moved across the country. The items were picked up here but never delivered. The suspect is threatening to sell or destroy the items  unless the victim pays him $200,000. There is an investigation taking place.  

2/7/2025 @ 3:37 pm. A male came into dispatch to report his truck and  trailer stolen. He was traveling south on Highway 13 Friday evening when it  had broken down. When he returned Saturday to fix his truck, it was gone.  It was later found to be on County Road 7. The victim was happy to recover  his vehicle.
