RIO HAPPENINGS: FEB 22-28, 2026

ARRESTS

2/24/2026-Meeker PD arrested a 39 year-old male for 2nd Degree Criminal Trespass, Criminal Attempt to Commit Other Misdemeanor, Resisting Arrest and Theft. He was transported to jail and released shortly after on a PR bond.

2/25/2026-Meeker PD arrested an 18 year-old female for 1st Degree Criminal Trespass, 2nd Degree Burglary and Possession of Drug Paraphernlia. She was transported to jail and released on a PR bond.

CALL SUMMARIES

2/24/2026 @ 8:50 am. A male party got keys to a truck that was parked at Don Jilberto’s restaurant and started it, however left on foot. A male matching the description was contacted moments later at City Park. He was taken into custody by Meeker PD and was taken to jail on several charges.

2/25/2026 @ 8:25 pm. A female party returned uninvited to a Meeker residence for the second day in a row. Meeker PD put an end to the repeat performance with an arrest.

2/28/2026 @ 12:08 pm. A cow on Highway 139 evaded a deputy who was attempting to get her back into her fence. The cow was located the next day on the highway, seemingly just to prove a point.

2/27/2026 @ 4:50 pm. Juveniles were reported on the pond at Circle Park. Upon the officer’s arrival, the juveniles were gone.

2/27/2026 @ 11:26 am. Emergency services responded to a car vs semi at the intersection of County Road 5 and Highway 64. There were no injuries. Colorado State Patrol is investigating the accident.

2/27/2026 2 9:33 am. A single vehicle rollover accident on County Road 106 was discovered, however the crash happened the night before. Once the driver was located the next day he stated he was unsure what happened and was not injured. Colorado State Patrol is investigating the accident.

2/27/2026 @ 8:36 am. A caller reported a speeding tractor trailer on Highway 13. A deputy was able to incercept the semi who was in fact speeding. He was issued a warning for speed.
